Natural Treatments For Fertility

Is it unheard of for a couple with Fertility problems to seek natural insemination?
I feel like the only person in the world with this problem, but also feel like i can’t possibly be the only person with it. my and my wife want a child, but we’ve been having problems. turns out, the problem is mine, not hers.
we want the child to be as much ours as possible. we don’t have the insurance, money, or time that would allow us to pursue other options such as fertility treatments (which isn’t realy an option in our case), artificial insemination, or adoption. so we’ve considered . . . . natural insemination.
we’ve discussed it. we have candidates. we though about having them sign a contract. but we feel alone. is this unheard of? if just waiting is not an option for us, why should or shouldn’t we be considering this?
You would have to adopt anyway because you would have no rights to her child until you adopt. Same things goes for women who use donor eggs. They are not genetically tied to the baby so they have to adopt the baby and the woman who’s eggs they use would have to sign over parental rights. You would have to get a lawyer to make sure that the agreement you come to is legal enough to hold up in court, or the genetic father may be able to sue for parental rights.
If you are willing to go that far, you could get free donor sperm, possibly a male relative of yours who is willing to sign over parental rights. Then use an IUI. It cost a couple hundred dollars, and if you can’t afford that, you really can’t afford a child.
Also, as far as natural insemination goes (i’m assuming you mean have donors have intercourse with your wife to impregnate her) how many times do you think she will have to do that? It doesn’t work every time for healthy fertile couples. If she is under 30, her chances of getting pregnant are only 20% each cycle. He would have to “naturally inseminate” her every other day for at least a week during her ovulation time. And for maybe as long as a year. I don’t think you want that.
precious – if he can’t afford a simple IUI, how can he afford IVF, which costs about $15 to $30 thousand dollars a cycle???
